Just saw the 2012 disaster movie in the 11 am showing. It was only $6.00 bucks. Worth every penny I thought. Some good old time actors were in it that we haven't seen in a while, like Danny Glover who played an older version of Prez Obama, among others I don't remember their names. Cgi was great and the story was well threaded I thought. You can't show everything that happens in the end of the world, but there were a few too many skin of teeth escapes from death, like Indiana...

Christian Film: Fireproof

It's good to see a Christian film in the regular theaters. Fireproof is a romantic drama about a firefighter, who turns his life to God in some stressful times. The film opened in the #4 spot last weekend. It's still in the #8 spot this weekend. The only actor with significant film credits is Kirk Cameron, who was also in the Left Behind series. He was also on Growing Pains on TV. Although the film was in only a bit over 800 theaters across the nation, this film is doing so well...

Brian Welch's Cd

Hey yesterday I picked up Brian Welch's cd. I'm no good at writing reviews. All I can say is that I really like. I really like the first song called "Love" and the last song "Washed By Blood". The cd has a good message without being preachy. Just tells it the way it is. A broken life coming to God to be made whole again.

Back in the 70s or early 80s, my parents watched a strange movie on TV. This was before cable and VCRs reached our household, so it had to be on one of the Big 3 networks, PBS or our local LeSea Christian Broadcasting station. (LeSea Ministries was based in my hometown.) It may have been a TV-movie.

What I recall:

--Everybody in Elizabethan (Shakespearean) clothing.

--A young woman goes to her sisters and mother and says she has just heard about Christ. But...

Have you seen it! This is truly an amazing movie! I went to see it Saturday night and the theater was packed. I'm not good at all at writing movie reviews. All I can say is I want to see it again!

There are two songs I've been trying to identify so I can buy them, rather than just listening to MP3s I burned from a worn-out tape made from the radio back in 1986. Does anybody recognize these? I heard them on a Christian radio station:

"There Will Be Blood"- up for best picture of the year, parades as a movie about oil drilling in early America, but is really about portraying Christianity as weird, greedy and phony. The plot is about two greedy men, one a hard working oil finder and the other a deranged preacher. The preacher who is weird, false, greedy and twisted threatens to use the oil mans sins against him publicly to force him to accept Christ in order to bribe and take his money. He humiliates the oil man....

OK so we just saw the new Aliens vs Predator. Nothing morally good about it, but the movie itself wasn't that bad. Pretty good actually.
I am an Alien girl myself, my hubby likes the Predators more, but we were both pleased overall. Whenever they put 2 different movie characters together it can get tricky- like that awful film Freddy vs. Jason.
Don't know if anyone else is into the sci-fi/horror genre.
Definately NOT a movie for kids, in case you even wondered. Ultra-violent and...
